Winter Essentials Donation Drive: Let’s Keep Our Neighbors Cozy This Winter!
Small Items, Big Impact: Donate Socks & Warm Layers Locally
As the temperatures start to drop, I’ve been thinking about our neighbors who are facing another cold winter without the basic essentials to keep warm. It's a tough reality, and one I know we can help soften together.
Here’s a quick-but-important fact: socks and warm layers are consistently the most requested items at local shelters, yet they are often the least donated. Think about that for a second—a simple pair of warm socks can make a world of difference when you’re facing housing insecurity.
That's why I'm kicking off a Winter Essentials Donation Drive} to support LifeMoves, a fantastic local organization dedicated to helping families, seniors, and individuals experiencing homelessness right here in our community.
My Pledge and Your Impact
To get things rolling, I’m personally donating 50 brand-new pairs of socks. But my 50 are just the beginning.
Your generosity will have an immediate and direct impact on keeping people warm and comfortable this season. Every item counts, and it stays right here to help our community members in need.
What you can donate:
We are collecting new items to ensure dignity and comfort for all recipients. A few necessities we are focused on:
- Warm layers: New socks, New underwear, Warm beanies/hats, Gloves, Scarves, Coats & jackets, Sweatshirts & hoodies, Thermal leggings / long johns, Blankets
- Cozy Comforts: Blankets
- Hygiene items (always needed): Toothbrushes & toothpaste, Travel-size shampoo, conditioner, soap, Deodorant, Body wipes, Lip balm
